2004 Line Up

Yamaha leaves no stone unturned with their 2004 Line Up

Above is the all new fully automatic Bruin 350 and the literal -- "seat of your pants" Rhino 660 4x4.

They say seeing is believing but in this case you'll need to actually ride (and drive) Yamaha's ATVs in order to believe what an instrumental line up they have in store for 2004.

Yamaha left no stone unturned with their latest ATV line up. Not ever has an OEM offered such a complete sport-performance category! From its dependable youth Raptor 50, 80 and Breeze youth quads, to the number one selling entry level ATV - the improved 200cc Blaster, to the number one selling sport quad of all time - the Warrior 350, to the big bore Raptor 660, to the first twin cylinder ATV - the Banshee 350, to the ATV that we say "changed everything" - the pro level race winning YFZ450 -- Yamaha has all bases covered.

We like to think that moving to Yamaha's Utility and new Side-by-Side segment is actually more of an extension of its extraordinary sport performance equipment. After all you're not supposed to comfortably pitch a 4x4 quad sideways into a turn like Kory Ellis might on the race track, and last time we checked you weren't supposed to drive a sit down 4x4 work vehicle over and through boulders, tight hilly woods and deep mud at smile-inspiring warp speeds. Yamaha disagrees and packs a bunch of high-performance fun into each of their ATVs, regardless of which segment the unit falls under.

In case you haven't gotten a chance to swing a leg over (or into) one of Yamaha's 2004 units, we've listed a brief description of what you can look forward to at your local dealer.

Sport Performance

YFZ450
- NEW

It'll make you drop whatever it is you're doing to suit up. Trying to resist the temptation is useless, because everything about the new Yamaha 2004 YFZ450 screams "Ride Me!"

Start with the slick styling and work your way into the machine's revolutionary chassis. Sitting there staring back at you is the highest-performance four-stroke ATV engine on the planet. But don't stop there. The suspension system is state-of-the-art too, as are the numerous weight-saving components found anywhere and everywhere you look. Simply put, the YFZ450 is the most fun you can have on four wheels.

ATV enthusiasts all over the world have been waiting for the day when Yamaha would take its world-leading four-stroke technology and apply it to the company's successful line up of sport ATVs. That day has arrived. When the power from the YFZ450's four-

stroke powerplant hits, you know it. Of course, the 439cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine has something no other four wheeler on the planet can claim: Five valves, all of which are made of titanium.

In order to feed the YFZ450's high-performance powerplant, make sure you have some premium gasoline handy - the YFZ450 isn't like any other ATV, and it doesn't accept regular unleaded. It does, however, boast some of the more popular convenience features like electric start, which gets both the engine and race-inspired Keihin 39mm FCR carburetor with throttle position sensor going at the push of a button. All the while, a five-speed manual transmission is just waiting to pull rider and machine up through the gears.

Once up and running, the AMA-legal YFZ450 will have other 400-class machines struggling to catch up. Fortunately for the rider, the YFZ450's lineage is Yamaha's race-proven YZ four-stroke line up. In a nutshell, that means the high-revving engine is surrounded by a cast of race-bred performance parts, from the levers to the cylinder head.

Soaking up the largest obstacles any terrain has to offer is a suspension that is both strong and lightweight. Up front, the independent double wishbone configuration has aluminum upper A-arms and steering knuckles. They combine with a Nitrogen-filled shock to boast 9.1" of travel with rebound, compression and threaded preload adjustability. In the rear, 10.1" of travel can be had thanks to a cast aluminum swingarm and shock that houses a link-type system modeled after that found on a YZ. The result is an anti-squat configuration that helps the YFZ450 to stay flat and hook up at a moments notice.

Not that you'd ever want to slow down, but just in case the need to scrub off a little speed arises - say, for example, you wanted to set up your entry into the next corner - the YFZ450 has plenty of braking power at the ready. Just as important is the feel the rider gets from the YZ-spec lever as the dual, twin-piston hydraulic discs up front and single

hydraulic disk out back take hold. From there, it's back up through the gears with the help of the also-YZ-spec ratchet-type shifter.

Putting the power to the ground is Dunlop radial rubber, which graces aluminum wheels on the YFZ450, front and back. Both sets have been upgraded for improved performance when it comes to cornering and traction, especially the rears, which are all-new and were designed specifically with the YFZ450 in mind.

In a class by itself, the YFZ450 was developed to be a winner straight out of the crate, and it borrows heavily from Yamaha's four-stroke YZ technology. Everything from the YZ adjustable brake and clutch levers to a flat, low seat for optimized sport riding has been incorporated. The cam shaft, cylinder body, valves, cam chain tensioner, even the magnesium crankcase cover… all come straight from the Yamaha family of YZ four-strokes. The reasons are simple: Lighter weight, increased durability and race-proven performance.

If a rich racing heritage isn't enough to draw you in, perhaps Yamaha's well-deserved reputation for fit and finish will. Items such as the no-tools air filter, easy chain adjustment and wide footrests help make the ride, regardless of the terrain you choose, an enjoyable and fun-filled one.

The new 2004 YFZ450 is available June 2003 at Yamaha dealerships nationwide in Team Yamaha Blue/White and White/Red color schemes.

Banshee

A legend in the making, the 2004 Yamaha Banshee returns as the industry's only production twin-cylinder, two-stroke ATV, and lives on as a machine worthy of such status thanks to its throngs of supporters in the sport ATV community.

The twin-cylinder two-stroke engine that made the Banshee famous continues to provide the exhilarating power and seat-of-their-pants ride ATV loyalists everywhere crave. To say the Banshee is quick revving would be an understatement. A manual clutch and close-ratio six-speed transmission combine with the Banshee's 347cc liquid-cooled engine, twin 26mm Mikuni carburetors and dual exhaust to form on of the fastest-accelerating ATVs on the planet.

A serious dune machine from the word go, the Banshee's ardent enthusiast following has
made it the most visible and dominant sport ATV model available. With a look and
performance all its own, Banshee owners are able to customize their machine even further thanks to the record amount of aftermarket accessories on the market, including Yamaha's own line of high-performance GYT-R parts.

Helping the Banshee tackle tough terrain are an independent double wishbone front suspension and single-shock swingarm in the rear, providing 9.0" of travel up front and 8.7" out back. A rigid and lightweight frame design helps to harness this screamer, while at the same time adding to the machine's power-to-weight dominance and superior handling. Braking is achieved via hydraulic dual front discs and a single rear disc which provide the Banshee with plenty of high-performance stopping power.

The 2004 Banshee will be available June 2003 in Team Yamaha Blue/White and White/Red. An all-Black Limited Edition Banshee will arrive in Yamaha dealerships nationwide starting August 2003.

Blaster

The 2004 Blaster is back for more with the upgraded look and added performance features that proved so popular with ATV enthusiasts last year. A blast to ride, the Blaster is one machine that truly lives up to its name.

With styling cues reminiscent of the 660R Raptor, the Blaster is powered by a 195cc air-cooled two-stroke engine that both hits hard and revs with the best of them. A close-ratio, six-speed transmission and manual clutch provide superior sport feel and performance, while the Blaster's CD ignition guarantees quick and steady throttle response throughout the powerband.

In addition to a proven engine and transmission, the Blaster's lightweight, durable chassis plays host to a race-bred suspension that includes an independent double wishbone

configuration up front. Out back, a lightweight yet rigid swingarm with preload adjustable shock allows for easy fine-tuning whenever the riding conditions demand it.

After getting some new hydraulic binders for both the front and rear last year, Blaster riders have become spoiled by its superior braking performance. Various other features have helped establish the Blaster as a favorite among younger riders and other first-time sport ATVers, including its padded seat and tough, serrated footrests. Yamaha's convenient Autolube Oil Injection System even eliminates the hassle of having to premix oil and gas.

With a fun factor that tips the scales, the Blaster does anything but, weighing in as the lightest sport ATV on the market. Its numerous performance and rider-friendly features have helped to establish the Blaster as the perfect entry-level ATV, not to mention one of the most affordable.

Team Yamaha Blue/White and White/Red 2004 Blasters will be available at Yamaha dealerships nationwide starting June 2003.

Breeze

The 2004 Breeze wafts into showrooms this year as the prototypical entry-level ATV. Perfect for the first-time rider age 16 and older, the Breeze's 124cc four-stroke engine is joined by other user-friendly features such as a reverse gear, electric start and automatic V-belt transmission. Fun to ride, the Breeze is the ideal machine for any budding ATV enthusiast.

Thanks to an adjustable throttle limiter, an instructor can closely monitor a Breeze rider's learning curve. Matching skill level and experience to the machine is easily achieved by twisting a screw to increase or decrease engine output. The automatic transmission with reverse gear is simple to operate, while a comfortable seat and plush suspension add to the overall ride experience.

When it comes to maintenance, the Breeze more than lives up to its name. A cam chain tensioner helps to both reduce engine maintenance and extend the life of the powerplant. What's more, the no-hassle Breeze looks just as good as it runs, offering everyone from first-time riders to long-time enthusiasts a comfortable and stylish ATV that is ready for all kinds of four-wheel fun.

The 2004 Breeze will be available June 2003 at Yamaha dealerships nationwide in Team Yamaha Blue and Green.

Raptor 50 - NEW

Yamaha is proud to announce another new addition to its family of sport ATVs: The Raptor 50. Hatched from the same mold that gave us the extremely popular and performance-laden Raptor 80, the new 2004 Raptor 50 provides riders 6 years of age and older (always with adult supervision) with the perfect ATV platform for a sporty ATV-riding learning curve.

The Raptor 50 is sure to get the holeshot on its class thanks to the slick, proven styling it inherits courtesy of its older siblings. A peppy 49cc four-stroke engine, automatic transmission and low-maintenance shaft drive system will help keep the competition at bay while providing the quality ride experience Yamaha ATV owners have grown to expect.

Younger riders will become spoiled by the push button electric start on the Raptor 50, and parents will rest easy knowing they are in complete control of the machine thanks to the
automatic engine shut-off tether system. Speaking of control, the Raptor 50 boasts a lower

seat height and raised floorboards in order to accommodate smaller riders while a leading
A-arm front suspension and single-shock rear swingarm soak up the bumps with ease.

The all-new 2004 Raptor 50 is available in Team Yamaha Blue/White and White/Red color schemes at Yamaha dealerships nationwide beginning June 2003.

Raptor 80

From a distance, you might not be able to distinguish the best-selling youth model ATV, the Raptor 80, from its full-grown brother, the 660R Raptor. With the overwhelming popularity of Raptor styling, ATV enthusiasts 12 years of age and older (with adult supervision) can't go wrong with the 2004 Raptor 80, which boasts the proven performance and solid reputation that comes with every Yamaha ATV.

In addition to winning over riders, the Raptor 80 has also become a favorite among parents. The 79cc four-stroke engine and easy-to-use automatic clutch are very user friendly, as is the electric start, which allows the machine to be started in any gear at the push of a button. A fully adjustable throttle limiter and a removable engine restrictor plate allow parents to monitor the rider and control engine performance, enabling them to perfectly match machine performance with the rider's skill and experience level.

A smooth ride is also part of the package: The Raptor 80 gets leading A-arm front suspension and a single-shock rear swingarm. Helping to give the Raptor 80 all of the comfort and convenience of today's full-size machines are features such as a low-maintenance shaft drive system and wide fenders. And, for the enthusiastic first timer who just refuses to get off their machine, the Raptor 80's handlebars provide all-day comfort even as the rider grows both in size and skill level.

The 2004 Raptor 80 can be found at Yamaha dealerships nationwide beginning June 2003 in Team Yamaha Blue/White and White/Red color schemes.

Raptor 660R

After establishing itself as the sport ATV of choice for desert, dune and woods riders, the 660R Raptor quickly clawed its way to the top of the very competitive sport ATV sales charts. The current champ shows no signs of slowing, and returns in 2004 to wow enthusiasts with the combination of performance, innovation and styling that has helped Yamaha Motor Corp. U.S.A. and the 660R Raptor set the bar when it comes to sport machines.

As the best-selling sport ATV on the market, the 660R Raptor is an open-class machine with some serious bite. It delivers fists full of power that is complemented by handling characteristics normally found only on 400cc class sport ATVs. Trail riders especially love the versatility the 660R Raptor's reverse option offers, while all riders appreciate
having electric start to help them awaken the giants that are the Raptor's dual

33mm Mikuni carburetors and 660cc liquid-cooled, five-valve SOHC engine. To further entice the sport ATV buyer, the powerplant is complemented by a five-speed manual transmission, and both can be found in a lightweight, compact chassis.

The patented five-valve four-stroke is tuned to provide peak performance, hitting hard throughout the powerband yet managing to maintain an extremely smooth delivery thanks to the engine's counterbalancer. A large 3.2 gallon gas tank allows riders to explore to their heart's content, and the easily-engaged reverse gear - the 660R Raptor was the first sport ATV to offer such an option - is invaluable when the trails get tight.

Accelerating through the gears on wide-open terrain has never been so much fun, or so easy thanks to the YZ-spec ratchet-type shifter found on the 660R Raptor. A heavyweight in its class, the 660R Raptor has a laundry list of lightweight aluminum components to provide superior handling performance and keep the overall size of the machine at a very svelte and light 398 lbs. Knuckle joints, levers, swingarm, oil tank, front/rear brake calipers, top A-arm, and the oil and brake reservoirs are all made of weight-saving aluminum.

In addition to being light, sport riders will love the advanced suspension set up offered by the 660R Raptor. The front and rear suspension both feature numerous options for dialing in the perfect settings based on trail conditions, as well as rider size and ability. The independent, double wishbone front suspension offers five-way preload adjustability and an incredible 9.1" of travel, while 8.7" can be found out back thanks to an aluminum swingarm and shock boasting threaded preload adjustment, compression and rebound damping.

Triple-disc hydraulic brakes provide plenty of stopping power, and a rider need only tap the binders on the 660R Raptor to scrub off speed in difficult, technical terrain. Nissin dual hydraulic 161mm disc brakes up front are joined by a single rear 220mm disc,

guaranteeing quick and timely braking performance whenever and wherever it is needed.

Rounding out the 660R Raptor are a pair of proven radial meats - Dunlop AT21x7-10's front and Dunlop AT20x10-9's rear - which grace front and rear aluminum rims that include a rolled edge for added durability. A host of rider-friendly features, such as a no-tools air filter, spin-on oil filter and handlebar-mounted choke to name a few, also grace the king of all sport ATVs.

The 2004 660R Raptor is available June 2003 at Yamaha dealerships nationwide in Team Yamaha Blue/White and White/Red. A Limited Edition Black/Yellow 660R Raptor will be available beginning July 2003.

Warrior

With its reputation for performance and proven 348cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine, the Warrior has firmly planted itself at the top of the charts as the best-selling sport ATV of all time. The Warrior's various other features, such as its 36mm Mikuni carburetor, have served to increase the machine's performance, not to mention its success.

As is the case with any bestseller, the Warrior has developed quite a following - especially among true ATV enthusiasts. Riders appreciate the fact that the 36mm Mikuni is fired with the help of electric start and has both slide and butterfly valves for increased air flow and fuel delivery. A wide-ratio, six-speed transmission further caters to enthusiasts of various riding experience, and includes a reverse option that can be engaged from any gear.

Battling terrain is a one-sided affair thanks to the Warrior's advanced suspension. A preload

adjustable double A-arm design up front and linkage-type single-shock in the rear both offer an incredible 7.9" of travel. With large-diameter ventilated hydraulic discs front and rear, there is no question as to the stopping power in the Warrior's arsenal, nor is there reason to doubt the superior handling offered by the lightweight, durable aluminum wheels and large knobby tires.

Everything from skid plates for the rear brake and sprocket to a snorkel air intake are designed to keep the Warrior charging hard all day long. As the most popular sport ATV of all time, the Warrior is truly a time-tested, rider-approved machine.

The 2004 Warrior comes in Team Yamaha Blue/White or White/Red and will be available at Yamaha dealerships nationwide starting June 2003.

Wolverine

As the first true sport-utility ATV, the Wolverine continues to dominate the class it created, and remains the best-selling 4x4 sport ATV on the market. Sport ATV enthusiasts appreciate the Wolverine's performance characteristics, while riders of all abilities appreciate the ease-of-use and various comfort features found on this machine.

Utilizing Yamaha's proven four-stroke technology, the Wolverine gets power from an ultra-compact 348cc air-cooled engine that packs plenty of punch. The Wolverine's 34mm Mikuni carburetor is fired with the help of electric start that features a back-up recoil starter. To help keep temperatures at an acceptable level, the Wolverine's oil cooler gets a forward position on the engine, and a five-speed semi-automatic transmission with reverse all but guarantees the appropriate gear will be available for any given situation or terrain.

The Wolverine receives high marks for its sport capability, but this ATV is not afraid to get down to business. A heavy-duty rear cargo rack and 4x4 traction benefit a rider with some work to do before hitting the trail for some hard-earned fun.

A 3.4 gallon fuel tank is just as valuable during a long day spent in the field as it is for hours of fun exploring. The Wolverine's capable chassis is complemented by sport-based, long-travel suspension front and rear (7.1" of double wishbone travel up front and 7.1" worth of adjustable preload travel in the rear), while a comfortable seat provides plenty of cushion regardless of the rider's agenda.

Joining the Wolverine's front double wishbone and rear single shock/swingarm suspension are performance features in the form of disc brakes and a limited-slip front differential that improves ground clearance and provides light steering for better handling. Add a tight turning radius to the mix and there is no doubt that the Wolverine is a sport ATV with a pedigree in terrainability.

The 2004 Wolverine is available June 2003 at Yamaha dealers nationwide in Team Yamaha Blue/White and Black color schemes.

Side-bySide

Rhino 660 - NEW

Yamaha charges headlong into the side-by-side vehicle market in 2004 with the all-new Rhino 660 4x4. Gone forever are the days of being restricted to tame terrain in a two-person vehicle. The Rhino 660 is the first side-by-side machine with serious off-road capability. Packing all the power and punch of the popular Yamaha Grizzly 660 4x4, the Rhino 660 can do everything an ATV can and more - namely accommodate two full-size adults and cargo! Aggressive styling and a tilting cargo bed further add to the Rhino 660's appeal. The first of its kind, Yamaha has clearly created a new category of off-road vehicle with the most comfortable and capable side-by-side machine available - the Rhino 660 4x4.

For those who dare try, following the class-defining Rhino 660 will be difficult. That's because no other side-by-side machine can boast a five-valve, 660cc liquid-cooled engine, much less a fully independent front and rear suspension. Add a dash-mounted three-way On-Command® 2WD/4WD system with differential lock - the same one found on Yamaha's top-of-the-line utility ATVs - and the Rhino 660 gets power to all four wheels at the push of a button.

Automotive-style controls mean the Rhino 660's superior handling and quick throttle response are handled through a steering wheel and gas pedal, respectively. A tap of the brake pedal finds four-piston hydraulic discs front and rear being pressed into action. And with the Grizzly's engine as its heart, the Rhino 660 is capable of gathering up plenty of steam, as well as tackling all types of terrain. Traversing the trails, whether on a hunt or on the job, has never been so easy, or so much fun. The fact that you can bring someone else along just adds to the excitement.

A 42mm Mikuni carburetor helps bring the Rhino 660 powerplant to life and assists in providing consistent engine response throughout the powerband. High- and low-range gears afford the driver the exact level of performance needed for any condition by shifting the lever conveniently located on the center console, and a reverse gear is an added bonus for when even a charging Rhino 660 is forced to change directions.

With plenty of power down low, the Rhino 660 and its standard (2") receiver hitch love to pull heavy loads. Likewise, a hefty bottom end is a bonus while navigating a trail with a full cargo bed. When you and a buddy decide to call it a day, simply lower the tailgate, lift a handle on the driver's side of the steel-reinforced bed and use its tilting feature to remove the contents. Simply lock it back in place and you are ready to go again.

Regardless of the task you and a companion tackle with the Rhino 660, both driver and passenger will be wowed by the exclusive Yamaha Ultramatic® automatic transmission.

In addition to being incredibly durable, the Ultramatic® system is the driving force behind Yamaha's renowned all-wheel engine braking. Especially handy during towing situations or when hauling heavy loads, perhaps the most important aspect of the engine braking feature is the added confidence it provides on the trail.

Helping to elevate not only the confidence but also the comfort level of Rhino 660 riders is a steel roof support system, automotive-style three-point safety belts, and plush, padded seats. A sizeable storage compartment can be found under the driver's seating area and two grab handles have been incorporated into the roof supports - one between driver and passenger and the other on the right downtube.

Good luck finding terrain that calls for grab handles, however, given how effectively the Rhino 660 suspension soaks up the bumps. An advanced independent double wishbone configuration up front is joined by a fully Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) out back. Up to 7.3" of travel can be had front and rear, helping to provide light, easy steering and the smoothest of rides under the most strenuous of conditions. An industry leading 12.1" of ground clearance further establishes the Rhino 660 as the leader in a new class of terrainable side-by-side vehicles.

A high-capacity 8.5 gallon gas tank beckons for those all-day rides, regardless of whether they are work- or leisure-related. A waterproof automotive-style DC outlet is also available in all situations for powering up everything from a mobile phone to a GPS device. The Rhino 660 even has an automotive-style parking brake to make sure the machine won't wander or stray from the attention of its thrill-seeking handlers.

But the chances of the Rhino 660 escaping anyone's attention are slim - the machine's attractive styling definitely stands out, to say the least. The hood of the Rhino 660 sports aggressive lines outlining headlights that appear to be staring down anything that dares stand in its way. You can hardly blame obstacles for wilting under the gaze - and the power - of the Rhino 660.

For the machine's occupants, however, riding in the Rhino 660 as it tames the terrain is a lesson in luxury. A key-activated electric starter is joined by a convenient dash-mounted choke to get the Rhino 660 up and running. From there, the proven powerplant, trail-tested suspension, and Yamaha's reputation for quality, durable product take over to provide driver and passenger with the 4x4 experience of a lifetime.

The 2004 Rhino 660 4x4 will be available in Hunter Green at Yamaha dealerships nationwide starting September 2003. A new RealTree High-Definition Hardwoods® camouflage model will follow in February 2004.

Pro Hauler 700 - NEW
Like its bigger brother, the all-new Pro Hauler 700 was built for two. Ready to work, as well as bring along a supporting cast of additional workers and their materials, the roomy and rugged Pro Hauler 700 is one of three capable machines to join the new Yamaha side-by-side vehicle lineup. As a newcomer to the market, this machine is setting quite a precedent for not only future, but also existing vehicles in its class.

By the looks of the Pro Hauler 700, you get the impression this machine is in for the long haul regardless of what you throw at it. And you're right. Aggressive styling and oversized knobby tires join forces with a 357cc four-stroke engine to get you where you want go in style and comfort, while a spacious cargo bed and a standard (2") receiver hitch make towing or hauling everything from building materials to sacks of feed so easy it will hardly seem like work.

Hunters will also appreciate the cargo space and tow capacity, but they will perhaps be most impressed by the smooth, quiet ride of the Pro Hauler 700, which features electric start and a V-belt automatic transmission. The automotive-style controls are joined by the same convenient gas pedal on/off feature found on Yamaha's golf car, which enables the driver to shut off the engine by depressing and locking the brake, as well as hop in and go at a moment's notice by pressing on the gas. A padded bench seat and a reverse gear option will be extremely popular with all riders, regardless of the activity.

That's the beauty of the Pro Hauler 700 and the entire Yamaha side-by-side lineup: You get to where you want to go in a capable, comfortable machine that not only holds you and your cargo, but a companion as well. What's more, it's affordable - the price tag on the Pro Hauler 700 belies both its usefulness on the farm and the fun factor it supplies during those leisurely weekend outings.

Ready to work, and always willing to play, the all-new Pro Hauler 700 is proof that it's better if you can take someone along for the ride.

The 2004 Pro Hauler 700 is available in a new Steel Blue color at Yamaha dealerships nationwide beginning December 2003.

Pro Hauler 1000 - NEW

As one of three all-new models in the 2004 Yamaha side-by-side lineup - a brand-new category for the manufacturer - the Pro Hauler 1000 takes direct aim at utility customers who require a vehicle that is both capable and worker-/rider-friendly. With room to spare, the Pro Hauler 1000 will tackle most any task you throw at it, regardless of whether it's a leisurely ride around the ranch or hauling you, a co-worker and a cargo bed full of supplies to the next work site. The Pro Hauler 1000 makes it easier to go where you want so you can do what you want, especially when a chore requires the attention of two people.

Sporting automotive-style controls, the Pro Hauler 1000 is simple to operate. The same gas pedal on/off feature found on Yamaha's golf car shuts off the 357cc four-stroke engine when the brake is locked, but it's up and running instantly once the gas pedal is pressed. An automatic V-belt transmission makes for an ultra-smooth ride, while sealed drum brakes front and rear provide the Pro Hauler 1000 with plenty of stopping power. A reverse gear option serves to further up the ante when it comes to on-the-job versatility.

But don't let the steering wheel and plush padded bench seat fool you. Although ideal for all your transportation needs - regardless of whether you're moving family, friends or feed - the Pro Hauler 1000 is the vehicle of choice for ALL your around-the-farm activities. The rugged cargo bed handles heavy loads with ease, and a standard (2") receiver hitch is ready and waiting to answer the call to active towing duty.

To get a feel for just how tough and capable the Pro Hauler 1000 can be, look no further than its aggressive styling, which gets its inspiration from Yamaha's top-of-the-line Grizzly 660 ATV. Like its ATV relatives, the Pro Hauler 1000 is invaluable in utility situations, often acting as another very capable member of the work crew - the
Pro Hauler 1000 actually allows you to safely bring along another set of hands for those multi-person projects. And with its large oversized tires, you'll be hard-pressed to find a work site outside this machine's reach.

Then again, you know what they say about all work and no play. Rest assured that is not a problem with the Pro Hauler 1000, as it just as easily transports a pair of hunting buddies and their gear on the weekend as it does a work crew and their supplies during the week. And the large 6.3-gallon fuel tank on the Pro Hauler 1000 is perfect for those all-day excursions, both work- and play-related.

Packing Yamaha's well-established reputation for quality construction and legendary durability as its calling cards, the Pro Hauler 1000 is not only up to the task, it can bring along reinforcements for those really tough jobs. The new Yamaha Pro Hauler 1000 has raised the bar - and redefined the job description - for serious side-by-side utility vehicles.

The 2004 Pro Hauler 1000 will be available in a new Steel Blue color at Yamaha dealerships nationwide beginning January 2004.

Utility

Bruin 350 4X4 & 2WD - NEW

Bruin 350 2WD
Bruin 350 4WD

The all-new Yamaha Bruin 350 4x4 and Bruin 350 2WD are automatics in all senses of the word. In addition to getting the Yamaha patented, exclusive Ultramatic® automatic transmission, these newest bears are sure to be an automatic sale on dealers' showroom floors. Boasting many of the high-performance and rider-friendly features found on the top-of-the-line Yamaha Grizzly 660 and Kodiak 450 ATVs, the Bruin 350 4x4 and Bruin 350 2WD come with a price tag that is sure to please even the most cost-conscious customer.

Both the Bruin 350 4x4 and Bruin 350 2WD sit on a full-size chassis and are powered by a 348cc four-stroke SOHC engine that is perfectly capable of taking on any task you put in front of it, from a day exploring the local trail system to a weekend spent working around the ranch. A Mikuni 33mm BSR carburetor is also on board to get fuel to the powerplant, as well as provide crisp throttle response throughout the rev range.

The fact that both machines take styling cues from the popular top-of-the-line Yamaha Grizzly 660 is a point in their favor, but that's not where the similarities end. Like the Grizzly, the Bruin 350 4x4 boasts the patented Yamaha On-Command® system, which enables the rider to get power to all four wheels simply by pushing a button located near the right handgrip. Convenient and effective, the On-Command® system allows the rider to take on challenging terrain with confidence.

Getting the Yamaha-exclusive Ultramatic® V-belt transmission helps these new bears keep up with the big-bore boys, most notably by supplying superior engine braking. By keeping constant tension on the belt, the system's durability is not only increased, it eliminates the "freewheeling" effect sometimes found on the competition's ATVs. The Ultramatic® system produces a machine that performs well in downhill riding situations, as well as when it comes time to haul those heavy loads.

Doing its part to soak up the terrain and keep the ride as smooth as possible on the
Bruin 350 4x4 and Bruin 350 2WD is a suspension system that includes an independent double wishbone configuration up front with 6.3" of travel and a swingarm with 7.1" of travel in the rear - both offer five-way preload adjustability. Dual hydraulic front disc brakes are at the ready to help wrestle these bears to a stop on demand.

As the newest bears on the block, the Bruin 350 4x4 and Bruin 350 2WD are out to make their mark by supplying a fun-filled, exciting ride which features nimble handling as one of its primary features. Light steering and a tight turning radius are joined by full-size fenders and integrated floorboards to keep the rider clean and dry, while almost 10" of ground clearance place the Bruin 350 4x4 and Bruin 350 2WD at the top of their class in that category.

Full-size 25" tires are just part of the reason for the astounding ground clearance found on the Bruin 350 4x4 and Bruin 350 2WD. Nevertheless, a full-length skip plate is on guard should anything try and reach the underside of these new bears. A stainless steel

exhaust system is just as tough in fighting off the elements, and wrinkle-finished racks front and rear (88 lbs. and 176 lbs. capacity, respectively) are both rugged and ready when it comes time to haul goods anywhere they may be needed. A standard (2") receiver hitch is also on board for all the rider's towing needs of up to 1,102 lbs.

Packed with features, the new Bruin 350 4x4 and Bruin 350 2WD are not only versatile, they are also extremely fun to ride. The knockout punch, though - as far as the competition is concerned, anyway - comes in the form of the price tag, which places "affordable" among the key words used to describe the newest bears to join the Yamaha utility ATV lineup.

The 2004 Bruin 350 4x4 will be available in Hunter Green, Red and new Steel Blue beginning September 2003. A new RealTree High-Definition Hardwoods® edition
Bruin 350 4x4 will arrive at Yamaha dealerships nationwide October 2003. The 2004 Bruin 350 2WD will arrive on showroom floors in Hunter Green, Red and Steel Blue beginning October 2003.

Grizzly 660 4x4

In the world of big bore utility ATVs, the Yamaha Grizzly 660 has clearly emerged as the class leader. Boasting superior power, responsive handling, and fully independent front and rear suspension systems that supply the most comfortable ride available in an ATV, the Grizzly 660 rules the trails, as well as the sales charts.

At the heart of the Grizzly is a 660cc, SOHC liquid-cooled engine with Yamaha's patented five-valve technology. The powerplant is aided by a 42mm Mikuni carburetor, which provides crisp throttle response and ensures excellent engine performance throughout the powerband. The result is a machine that is ready and willing, any time, anywhere - the Grizzly 660 will just as easily negotiate a deep swamp in the South as it will a mountain peak in the Rockies.

Also at the ready at all times is the Grizzly 660's innovative three-way On-Command® 2WD/4x4 with diff. lock system that engages at the push of a button. For 2004, an all-new override button has been incorporated that enables the rider to bypass the rev limiter when in 4x4 diff. lock. As a result, the Grizzly 660 can cruise in 2WD or tackle tough obstacles in 4x4 - whether on a hunt, on the job, or just out and about exploring the trails, the Grizzly 660 is ready regardless of the conditions.

Adding to the machine's versatility are high- and low-range gear options that enable the Grizzly 660 to achieve the exact level of engine performance required in any given situation. Having plenty of low-end torque is definitely a big bonus when pulling heavy loads, and the Grizzly 660 even offers the luxury of a reverse gear for when the trails get tight or changing directions becomes necessary.

But there's no need to worry if the trails do take a downhill turn - that is when the performance-packed Grizzly 660 really shines. Yamaha's exclusive Ultramatic® automatic transmission comes through with the most advanced engine braking system found in an ATV. Utilizing both a centrifugal clutch and a sprag (one-way) clutch behind the primary wheel, the Grizzly 660 achieves not only superior all-wheel engine braking, but vastly increased durability. Add hydraulic discs brakes front and rear and this is one bear that can almost literally stop on a dime.

Even at speed, however, the fully independent double wishbone front and Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) on the Grizzly 660 keeps things under control by providing the smoothest, most comfortable ride possible. The state-of-the-art suspension set-up is preload adjustable and affords machine and rider 7.1" of travel up front with a class-leading 9.5" out back. A whopping 11.8" of ground clearance helps to further place the Grizzly at the top of its class, while a tight turning radius and light, easy steering earn it high marks for clearing obstacles, as well as for the overall ride experience.

Everything about the Grizzly 660 is intended to make the experience a memorable one

for the rider. Features such as a handlebar-mounted choke lever get the Grizzly 660 up and running at a moment's notice, while a DC outlet does the same for portable electronic devices. Even minor service has also been made easy thanks to a no-tools air box and spin-on oil filter.

Aiding in the area of rider comfort are outer- and inner-fenders to help keep riders clean and dry on long rides made possible by the large 5.3-gallon fuel tank that features an
all-new ratcheting gas cap. An under-the-seat storage area holds the trail necessities. Front (99 lbs.) and rear (187 lbs.) racks are included and boast a wrinkle finish to withstand the rigors of whatever your hunting, camping or working needs throw at them.

Making sure the Grizzly 660 lives up to its name, not to mention the expectation of its owner, in the area of lifespan, Yamaha engineers placed the radiator within the frame and behind the front guard to help protect it from sustaining damage inflicted by the elements. What's more, the shaft drive system is maintenance-free, the belt housing includes a breather system to rid itself of damage-causing items, and all-new vented engine side covers have been added for improved air flow under extreme conditions. Even the tires are mounted on aluminum wheels with rolled edges for increased durability.

The king of utility ATVs rules on: Industry-leading technology and innovation combines with various and numerous rider-friendly features to help the 2004 Yamaha Grizzly 660 again claim its spot at the top of the utility ATV hierarchy.

The 2004 Grizzly 660 is available June 2003 in Hunter Green and Red, as well as the new Steel Blue and RealTree High-Definition Hardwoods® color schemes. RealTree Wetlands Hunter and Limited Edition Metallic Red models will be made available starting August 2003 and October 2003, respectively.

Kokiak 400 4X4 & 2WD

Kodiak 400 2WD
Kodiak 400 4WD

Not content to rest on its laurels - the Kodiak 400 4x4 won ATV of the Year honors when it was first introduced in 2000 - both the Kodiak 400 4x4 and Kodiak 400 2WD have continued to push the envelope of ATV performance. With their innovative combination of power, plush suspension, nimble handling and other rider-friendly features, the Kodiak 400 4x4 and Kodiak 400 2WD are poised to set the standard in their class for years to come.

A liquid-cooled 401cc SOHC four-stroke engine powers the Kodiak 400 4x4 and Kodiak 400 2WD through all types of terrain, while a 33mm Mikuni BSR carburetor feeds these bears and helps to ensure consistent power delivery.

Helping to get the power to ground on the Kodiak 400 4x4 and Kodiak 400 2WD is Yamaha's exclusive Ultramatic® automatic transmission. Widely known as the most

advanced ATV drive system, the Ultramatic® transmission incorporates both a centrifugal clutch and a sprag (one-way) clutch behind the primary pulley. As a result, belt wear is greatly reduced and "freewheeling" is eliminated, offering the Kodiak 400 4x4 and Kodiak 400 2WD superior engine braking.

Kodiak 400 4x4 customers also are treated to the patented Yamaha On-Command® push-button 2WD/4x4 system, which allows them to choose between power-delivery configurations as the conditions change. A forward/neutral/reverse shift lever is included on the left side of both models, enabling the rider to keep their throttle hand free in tight spots when shifting is required.

With a lightweight CAD-designed chassis, the Kodiak 400 4x4 and Kodiak 400 2WD boast industry-leading agility and extremely nimble handling. The independent double wishbone front suspension offers 6.3" of terrain-soaking travel, while 7.1" in the rear and almost 10" of ground clearance keep the obstacles and elements at bay.

In addition to a smooth, comfortable ride, the Kodiak 400 4x4 and Kodiak 400 2WD also offer up a host of creature comforts, including a handlebar-mounted choke lever, a
DC outlet to power electronic devices, an easy-access/no-tools air box and an under-seat storage box capable of holding trail necessities. Full-size floorboards combine with over- and inner-fenders to keep the rider clean and dry in wet conditions, and a speedometer with trip meter helps judge the distance traveled during both work- and play-related outings.

For on-the-job convenience, steel cargo racks front (88 lbs.) and rear (176 lbs.) feature a durable black wrinkle finish, and a center-mounted standard (2") trailer hitch hauls more than 1,100 lbs.

To make sure the Kodiak 400 4x4 and Kodiak 400 2WD boast a lifespan that is on par with their bear brethren, Yamaha engineers incorporated design features such as placing

the large-capacity aluminum radiator high in the frame to prevent damage, while air intake vents prevent debris from entering the transmission. A marine-spec fuse box houses the Kodiak 400 models' electrical components under the seat. Even the muffler, which provides superior power characteristics while keeping sound to a minimum, is made of stainless steel to resist wear.

The 2004 Kodiak 400 4x4 will be available in Hunter Green, Red and new Steel Blue beginning June 2003. A new RealTree High-Definition Hardwoods® camouflage edition Kodiak 400 4x4 will arrive at Yamaha dealerships nationwide August 2003. The 2004 Kodiak 400 2WD will show up on showroom floors in Hunter Green, Red and new Steel Blue starting August 2003.

Kodiak 450 4X4

Introduced just last year, the Kodiak 450 4x4 has already built quite a fan base, and was even named American Hunter magazine's ATV of the Year. Not bad for an all-new model. But the Kodiak 450 has more than a few tricks up its sleeve, including numerous features usually found only on big-bore machines. Some may see it as an unfair advantage, but for many ATV customers the Kodiak 450 is the perfect package for working, hunting, fishing or just plain having a little fun thanks to its class-leading combination of performance and comfort.

The extremely popular Yamaha three-way On-Command® system on the Kodiak 450 enables riders to match machine to terrain, allowing them to choose between 2WD, 4x4 and 4x4 locking differential with the push of a button. And for those really tough situations, an all-new override feature allows for maximum engine rev in full diff. lock mode, something that is sure to put a smile on more than one ATV enthusiast's face.

High- and low-range gear options help to further establish the Kodiak 450 as an extremely versatile machine, while a reverse gear is available when changing directions is necessary. Gear selection is made simple with the help of a lever on the left side of the machine, while a multi-function integrated LCD display with speedometer, odometer/trip meter, hour meter and clock also shows 4x4 and diff. lock status.

At the heart of this bear is a torque-producing 421cc SOHC four-stroke engine that packs more then enough power for any work- or play-related activity. A 33mm BSR carburetor is on board to help ensure crisp, immediate throttle response and optimum engine performance throughout the powerband. A durable stainless steel exhaust enhances power delivery while at the same time keeping engine noise to a minimum.

The patented Yamaha fully automatic Ultramatic® transmission takes the work and worry out of the ride for the Kodiak 450 rider. The Ultramatic® system - with both a centrifugal clutch and sprag (one-way) clutch - keeps constant tension on the drive belt. The result is minimized belt slippage and wear. The Ultramatic® transmission also eliminates downhill "freewheeling" and supplies industry-leading engine braking when the conditions demand it.

In addition to offering increased durability, the Kodiak 450's CAD-designed chassis plays an important role in the nimble machine's superior handling. Light steering and a tight turning radius are valuable assets on the trail, while 9.7" of ground clearance, a plush suspension and a 32.6" seat height make for a capable and comfortable ride. Hydraulic disc brakes - large-diameter ventilated fronts and solid rears - make sure plenty of stopping power is at the ready if needed.

Speaking of comfort, the specially designed seat begs for those all-day excursions, which are an option thanks to the large-capacity (4 gallon) fuel tank with a built-in gauge. Once on the trail, full-size floorboards and oversized fenders with inner guards help to keep the rider clean and dry in wet conditions.

On the job, the Kodiak 450 is like an extra set of very strong hands, with durable wrinkle-finish steel racks front and rear that boast a combined cargo capacity of 264 lbs. (88 front, 176 rear). The Kodiak 450 also will haul more than 1,100 lbs. thanks to its center-mounted standard (2") receiver hitch, which is on call for all your towing needs. An automotive-style DC outlet is standard and can power everything from a Global Positioning System (GPS) to a mobile phone.

The 2004 Kodiak 450 4x4 will be available June 2003 in Hunter Green, Red and new Steel Blue. A new RealTree Hardwoods® High-Definition camouflage edition Kodiak 450 will arrive in Yamaha dealerships nationwide starting August 2003.
