Aaron Reisig sure has payed his dues over the years. Aaron has been competing since the mid eighties and is closing in on age 40. He’s won many races over the years, but this year he decided to go all in and finally suit up for the elite Pro class. The oldest guy in the Pro class pulled the holeshot on his Avon Cycle 450R but a Mitch Reynolds crash caused a red flag. On the restart he ran a nice fourth for while but faded to 12th after his seat fell off. Nonetheless, his heat, main and error-free-riding caught our eye. Good luck at future events, go prove that age means nothing Aaron – go kick butt and take names at North Carolina, Tennessee and Illinois.
Ohio's Darin Ogden was haulin' the mail in practice. He would have been hard to beat, but crashed when his front tire landed in a big rut during Saturday's practice. He ended up breaking a rib, but decided to race nonetheless. While others have a hard time walking around with a broken rib, Darin raced in the four and five spot for most of the Pro main. He ended up with a respectable 6th place. Wow! Now that's one tough racer!
Harold Goodman checked out and took the victory in the Pro ranks at his favorite TT track of all time. Goodman also leads the points race.
Die hard ATVer, Paula Shank had an impressive day on her Tru Way Racing Suzuki with two respectable second place finishes, one in the Women's class behind Lexi Wren, the other in the B class where she finished better than every guy except Justin Frindt.
Perhaps we could say the best is for last…. Garretson, South Dakota’s Michael Coburn certainly turned some heads at Pine Lake. Michael logged the fastest lap of the day at 46.973, while chasing Harold Goodman in the Pro Lites. In the end Coburn finished runner up in the two hottest classes of the day; the Pro and Pro Lites. Michael Coburn -- remember the name.
Check back in a few days for an in depth "Pine Lake Remembered" feature.... Since the Pine Lake race event is approached year 40, we thought we would put together something a little special for one of the most special places in ATV racing history.
