Grizzly 80

In just its first year of release, the new Yamaha Grizzly 80 is poised to become the most popular cub on the block. Based on the same platform as the best-selling Raptor 80 model, and boasting styling inherited from its incredibly popular bigger brothers – the Grizzly 660 and Grizzly 125 – the Grizzly 80 is the perfect “pet” for ATV enthusiasts 12 years of age and older (with adult supervision).

The new brother bear, featuring a 79cc four-stroke engine, shaft drive and automatic clutch, will not only win over riders, but also gain the approval of parents due to the fact that the Grizzly 80 is an easy-to-maintain vehicle providing years of durable, fun-filled performance. An electric start feature, which enables the machine to be started at the push of a button, ups the ante in the area of convenience.

To make sure any trip into the woods aboard this new bear is a safe one, the Grizzly 80 features a fully adjustable throttle limiter and a removable engine restrictor plate that will allow parents to judge the rider’s ability and control engine output accordingly. As the rider’s skill and experience levels increase, so can the engine performance of the rider-friendly Grizzly 80.

In addition to the smooth ride that helped make Raptor 80 an ATV fan favorite, leading A-arm front suspension and a single shock rear swingarm are joined by full floorboards that help protect the rider from the elements and further establish the Grizzly 80 as a direct descendant of its larger-sized brethren. A new rear rack has also been incorporated into the design of the Grizzly 80, enabling both machine and rider to earn their keep by doing some light hauling.

With a proven lineage and the reputation for reliability that comes with every Yamaha ATV, the Grizzly 80 is definitely a chip off the top-of-the-line block. As the newest member of the popular and proven Grizzly family, it won’t be long before its success helps this cub make a name for itself.

The 2005 Grizzly 80 can be found at Yamaha dealerships nationwide beginning October 2004 in Steel Blue and Hunter Green color schemes.

Raptor 50

Introduced last year, the Raptor 50 became the third member of the intensely popular Yamaha Raptor family to lure budding enthusiasts to the sport. As a direct descendant of the big bore 660R Raptor, Raptor 80, and now the new Raptor 350, the Raptor 50 is the perfect choice for entry-level riders 6 years of age and older (always with adult supervision) looking for predictable, reliable performance from their first ATV.

The Raptor 50 is a hit with both kids and adults, having received rave reviews from both groups. The machine quickly clawed its way toward the top of the sales charts, due in part to the wildly successful styling that have helped make the entire Raptor family so visible on the trail systems across the country. Adults love the Raptor 50 for its low-maintenance four-stroke engine and shaft drive system. Entry-level riders appreciate the automatic transmission, as well as the easily managed and useable power produced by the 49cc powerplant.

Both groups benefit from an electric start feature that has the ride and rider up and running quickly, while parents can rest easily knowing they are in control of there child’s ATV-riding learning curve thanks to an automatic engine shut-off tether system. A leading A-arm front suspension and single-shock rear swingarm soak up the bumps and offer the rider some increased in-the-saddle confidence. And for those looking to break into the sport, the lower seat height
and raised floorboards on the Raptor 50 are just what smaller first-timers are looking for in an entry-level ATV.

The 2005 Raptor 50 is available in Team Yamaha Blue/White and White/Red color schemes at Yamaha dealerships nationwide beginning June 2004.

Raptor 80

As a spitting image of the rest of the popular Yamaha Raptor family, the Raptor 80 has benefited from a lineage laced with top-notch sport performance and aggressive good looks. As a result, it has been the best-selling youth ATV for riders 12 years of age and older (always with adult supervision) for several years running. Backed by proven performance and Yamaha’s reputation for quality, durable product, the Raptor 80 is not about to relinquish its stronghold on this important segment of the ATV market.

The Raptor 80 is just as quick to win over parents as it is the rider. A fully adjustable throttle limiter and a removable engine restrictor plate allow parents to monitor the rider and control engine power, enabling them to perfectly match machine performance with the rider’s skill and experience level. Not to be left out, the rider benefits from a peppy 79cc four-stroke engine that is up and running at a moment’s notice with the help of electric start.

Further simplifying the operation of the Raptor 80 is an automatic clutch that enables the rider to easily shift up through the gears. A low-maintenance shaft drive system gets the power to the rear wheels, while wide fenders help to keep the rider clean and dry in a variety conditions. Mimicking full-size sport machines, a leading A-arm suspension in the front and single-shock swingarm in the rear help soak up some of the rougher stuff that the rider may encounter as his ATV skills increase.

The 2005 Raptor 80 can be found at Yamaha dealerships nationwide beginning June 2004 in Team Yamaha Blue/White and White/Red color schemes.
