Daytona Motorsports Group to Reimburse ATV Racers Fuel Expenses

Yesterday we called the Daytona Motorsports Group to inquire about their plans for AMA/ATVA quad racing. Click here if you are not aware that The Daytona Motorsports Group (DMG) now owns all AMA/ATVA race sanctions. While asking about their commitment toward quad racing in 2009 we were informed of an incredible marketing plan already in the works that really got our attention.

A representative of DMG told us that the company is still a few months away from announcing their plans for the 2009 race season, but gave us the inside scoop on an unheard of marketing program that they plan to launch along with their new website. Since we were never told that we should not mention this information on ATV Scene, here’s what we know…

With all the quad racing choices available today, it appears that DMG wanted a marketing plan that really got people’s attention. It certainly got ours and we have no doubt you too will be amazed at this one.

We were told that DMG, with help from a few outside the industry sponsors, plans to offer free gas for round one of their 2009 series to any top ten nationally ranked rider from the following series; GNC, GNCC, WORCS, WPSA and QuadCross.

With fuel prices at an all-time high, this could end up being one hefty bill for the new sanctioning owners of the current ATV Nationals. We’re estimating that they could spend as much as six figures on this reimbursement program. This has to be the biggest ATV race promotions commitment ever!

We’re told that riders wanting to be eligible for the new fuel reimbursement incentive will need to be signed up ahead of time on the company’s new website, which is currently being created. It’s our understanding that they want to drive a lot of traffic to the site and that’s the main focus of their fuel reimbursement incentive.

We agree that their new site will probably get a lot of traffic with this first-of-its-kind-incentive. If they do indeed implement this program - choosing which series to race in 2009 should be a no-brainer for those registered on their site and holding a top ten 2008 ranking.

We’ll post more on this as soon as the information becomes available. You might also check our forums for more up to date information on this very interesting piece of news.

While we’re on the topic of saving money on the outrageous cost of gasoline and diesel we suggest you check out our new feature called “Beating the Pump”.
